ABDO College encourages third year students to apply for CLO course

ABDO College is encouraging third year ophthalmic dispensing courses from all establishments to apply for the contact lens optician (CLO) course starting September 2020.

Becoming a contact lens optician is the logical next step for many new dispensing opticians (DOs), and applying while still in the third year of the ophthalmic dispensing course means that students can avoid waiting for a year before taking their next step.

Steve Hertz FBDO, Head of Operations at ABDO College explains, “Students may not be aware that they are able to apply for the contact lens course before completing their final exams, and this is even more relevant this year when there has been so much disruption.”

With an extended application deadline and payment plans to make the CLO even more accessible, students have until 22 August to apply and take their first step towards becoming a contact lens optician.
