ABDO College moves to Remote Teaching during COVID-19 Crisis

ABDO College has responded to the COVID-19 crisis and is completing all timetabled teaching through webinars, suspending all face-to-face teaching until further notice,.

Head of Operations at ABDO College Steve Hertz says, “We have followed advice from the Department for Health since the beginning. This decision has not been taken lightly. The safety and welfare of our students is our absolute priority so we feel this is the best plan of action for the current time.”

The College team has been using online teaching for some time, with a group of almost 50 students taking part in remote teaching over the past week. The feedback from this group has been overwhelmingly positive.

Steve continues, “Clearly, nothing can replace face to face teaching so we will revert back to this method as soon as we can. We will continue with the blended learning method of course delivery in future once this situation has ceased to be a problem.”

Students should attend webinars during the normal period when they would have been on block. It is therefore vital that employers respect the 2 week period students have scheduled to allow then to be at home to study remotely. The College will contact students individually in the week before they attend to give specific instruction on how to access webinars.
